When is a NISPOM security debriefing required?
Under 32 CFR 117.12(l), contractors must debrief cleared employees and record the debriefing when:
- Access to classified information is no longer needed.
- Employment ends through discharge, resignation, or retirement.
- An employee’s eligibility for classified access is terminated, suspended, or revoked.
- The entity eligibility determination is terminated.
The contractor must conduct the debriefing and annotate it in the appropriate contractor records.
